中文摘要
英文摘要 Undergraduate focus group sessions revealed three areas of concern at the University of Georgia. Fisrt, most students start their research on the Internet. Many of them believe they find all thcy need there though they are unaware of how to distinguish between scholarly and popular sites. Second, most students who do use Iibrary resources. do so remotely, without the benefit of assistance. The need to investigate chat reference is a high priority for reference departments as we seek to address these user expectations. Third, the way library resources are presented on the web do not correspond with the way search engines present their findings. Students expect results to be grouped by relevance. When the first few items do not seem useful, they try another resource. Having to go to another source to find the full text seems anachronistic since they expect everything to be linked.
